Lake Bled, Slovenia, 2017

Outside of Time

When I moved outside of time

I felt the mirror shatter

Into a thousand pieces

I felt the embrace of an

Army of strangers

Their silent conversations

Swelling and rising

Into a guttural wail

I felt the ripples of consequence

Spread their blackened fingertips

A web encompassing all

Even the dark matter

I saw each one of us connected by an invisible thread

Spun by the knowledge of the universe

I felt the faceless beauty of a place I knew

But could not name

I am laughter

I am sadness

I am shame

Tired of being

Half loved

Half held

Half human

Stillness overcame me as I moved outside of time
